August 2026 144 Market Report

Aggregate 144 Market Volume

This August, the total reported value of Form 144s increased 140% from July, driven by a 201% rise in the value of discretionary filings. This echoes similar increases in value for this time period from prior years, reflecting the end of pre-earnings blackout periods and insiders’ ability to trade freely again. However, insiders seemed to rely more heavily on selling under a Rule 10b5-1 plan this August than they did in August 2025 (a 100% increase year-over year). The overall value of Form 144s increased 38% from a year ago, while the number of filings rose a more modest 13%. This suggests that insiders are more eager to dispose of shares than last year, but have relied more on Rule 10b5-1 plans to capitalize on the market’s new highs.
